SB 808 -- MISSOURI BIOMASS TECHNOLOGY COMMISSION

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on
Conservation and Natural Resources by a vote of 16 to 0 with 2
present.
This bill establishes the Missouri Biomass Technology Commission
which duties will include collecting data, evaluating existing
programs, creating new programs, and making recommendations to
the legislature on program developments and uses for alternative
energy. The committee will develop a comprehensive guide to
alternative energy development, production, and use that will be
presented to the General Assembly. The provisions of the bill
will expire on June 30, 2007.
FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2005, FY 2006, and
FY 2007.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill will help the state
develop alternative energy sources and help alleviate our
dependency on foreign energy sources.
Testifying for the bill was Senator Klindt.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
